These monthly workshops are a melding of restorative yoga, mindfulness, psychology, and the art and science of relaxation. Each class is an exploration of yoga as a therapeutic antidote to unremitting stress and negative emotional states. In class, we are encouraged to slow down, do less, create space, and simply be with the shifting landscape of the mind and the internal sensations of the body. As we enter deeper and deeper layers of rest, we find that the body, mind, emotions, and nervous system gradually return to balance. A momentary taste of this kind of encounter unlocks our innate knowing for the need to return again and again.

Extensive research has shown that relaxation practices like restorative yoga have tangible benefits that include lower cortisol (a chemical messenger involved in the stress response), increased immunity, and improved emotional regulation. A sensitive and subtle practice, restorative yoga workshops offer a deep dive into silence, stillness, rest, and ease of being.

A recording of the class will be sent to each registered person, so you do not need to attend live. The recording will be available for 30 days.

Based on the ancient teachings of meditation, iRest® Yoga Nidra is an evidence-based transformative practice that leads to psychological, physical, and spiritual healing and well-being.
Its practice is integrative as it heals the various unresolved issues and traumas that are present in your body and mind, and restorative as it enables you to recognize your innate peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life.

The Friday night iRest® Yoga Nidra class is a nourishing way to start your weekend. By practicing iRest we grow our ability to become kinder, more curious humans. When we are in harmony with ourselves this changes our experience of the world. We become more at ease, less reactive to life, and more responsive to the others around us.

What to expect:
There will be a short lecture, a BodySensing movement practice, and a full iRest Yoga Nidra practice.  BodySensing has also been referred to as Non-dual Yoga or Kashmiri Yoga and is a meditative practice that uses movement as a way to connect with ourselves and to open into peace, well-being, and our inherent wholeness. When practicing BodySensing movement, we are essentially doing iRest in motion, in this way we begin to embody these teachings so that we may bring them out into the world with us.

The full iRest practice will be recorded and made available via email to the participants.
All levels of experience are welcome
